Who’s knocking?!

I was watching the morning news when I kept hearing a tapping. At first I thought it was someone tapping at my door. Then, I thought, “Geez, is there a squirrel in the house?” Taking a look around, I found where the sound was coming from; a robin hitting the bedroom window; still doing it as I write! It flies up to it and taps; I don’t see that it’s causing itself any harm. What I’ve concluded is that it’s mating season and he’s looking for a mate; the reflection in our windows! Or, he could be fighting off a suspected rival! Only theories! If looking for a mate, he just might be a lonely robin! Roger

Open water!

This is the last picture you’ll get of ice on Kelly Lake this ‘08 spring season! Photo of mallards from just the other day by Shirley. The water is now open. Looks like we can all start getting our docks in and yard/beach cleaned up! Rog
